Canada-Israel Joint Pitch Competition for Women-led Startups

Women-led startups from Canada and Israel are invited to apply to win one of four cash prizes worth $2,000 CAD each, as well as gain valuable mentorship guidance throughout the process.

Startup Canada is delighted to partner with the Embassy of Israel to further promote, celebrate and educate the startup community on the importance of women entrepreneurship globally.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be part of a women-led startup in order to apply (open to any and all sectors and industries). The judging criteria will focus on answering one important question, “What is the overall contribution of your business to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?” To help answer this question, panel of judges will assess your business under the following criteria.
• All ways of innovation are welcome: new methods, processes, governance models, social impact initiatives, and technologies.
o Innovation
 Be innovative in nature and provide value-added solutions which can include introducing a new product or service, or a developing an existing product or service to meet current market needs.
o Sustainability
 Be as sustainability-driven as possible within all facets of your business, from product design to business operations to strategy.
o Scalability
 Be scalable: to have potential for international growth and potential to be applied in corporations and destinations (countries, regions).
o Business Plan
 Have a tested pilot and business plan that includes key results, learnings, forecasts, and projections.
o Team
 Have a dedicated team that will provide industry experience, key relationships, and shares your passion for your business’s mission.
