The Digital Futures Cloud Programme 2022

Are you interested in getting into a career in the tech sector in Northern Ireland? The Digital Futures Cloud Programme may be the right option for you. You do not need to have a background in IT to apply. Applicants from any discipline are welcome. You will have skills that are transferable and relevant to this sector.

The Digital Futures Cloud Programme will run for 20 weeks with 10 weeks training at Belfast Met and 10 weeks practical on the job experience. The training at the college will be held online Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm.

During the Programme you will gain qualifications recognised by the IT industry globally. In addition, you will have the opportunity to apply your newly acquired skills with a leading IT company based in Northern Ireland.

At the start of the Programme, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of cloud and IT. Following this you will gain a wide range of industry qualifications which are sought after by employers in Northern Ireland and around the globe. You will complete the following qualifications:

  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
  • Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900)
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
  • MTA Networking Fundamentals
  • MTA Introduction to Programming Using Python
  • MTA Database Admin Fundamentals
  • Cisco Cybersecurity Essentials

The Programme will also allow time for personal development in areas such as presentation skills, communication skills, resilience, creative thinking and problem solving.

Entry Criteria

  • You are eligible to work in Northern Ireland.
  • You have a degree in any discipline.
  • Complete the Mindmill online psychometric assessment and upload your qualification certificate.

When

The Programme runs for 20 weeks in total. The academic teaching will commence on January 7th 2022 and teaching will conclude on March 21st 2022. Teaching will be held online via Microsoft Teams.

Following the teaching your 10 week placement with a company will commence giving you real world skills and experience.

Training will take place 5 days per week from 9am to 5pm.

Remuneration

The Programme is free to participants, fully funded by the Department for the Economy, and is part of the Skill Up – flexible skills programme.

For the duration of the programme, you will receive a training allowance of £150 per week (based on your attendance) and you may be eligible for support with childcare payments.

Application Process

The application portal will open on November 12th and close on Wednesday 8th December 2021.

Successful candidates will be informed on Friday 10th December 2021..

Training with Belfast Met will commence on January 7th and the industry placement will commence on March 22nd. The placement will end on May 27th 2022.
