The Academy of Sciences and theNational Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan awards a major Franco-Taiwanese scientific prize each year to a team of researchers (one working in a Taiwanese institution and the other in a French institution) for their contributions and achievements in the scientific research of interest to both regions, as well as their projects aimed at continuing and amplifying them.
The amount of the prize is €38,200 to be shared equally between the year’s winners. In order to encourage continued scientific exchange, a specific mobility grant is also available each year exclusively for the winners for short visits and workshops in both regions.
Requirements
- The call is open to all researchers working in France and Taiwan (regardless of nationality) that have an active scientific collaboration and plan to amplify it in the near future.
- Candidate teams need to complete the nomination form attached to this call and available on this link. Please note that recommendation letters are to be sent directly to the Académie des sciences and the National Science and Technology Council.
- Applications must be sent by June 19th, 2024 in two copies in PDF format, one submitted by the French applicant to the Académie des sciences, and the other submitted by the Taiwanese applicant to the National Science and Technology Council.
Award Details
- Laureates of the 2024 prize will be announced on October 15th, 2024.
- The Prize will be awarded during the séance solennelle of the Académie des sciences in Paris on November 26th 2024. The following day (November 27th 2024), the laureates will be invited to a ceremony co-organized by the Académie des sciences and the National Science and Technology Council, also in Paris.
