An eight-week project collaboration alongside Barilla managers to build a better food system together. An initiative to give startups the opportunity to show their potential in solving compelling use cases.
Barilla supports innovators in creating the future of joyful and sustainable food. The mission is to collaborate with solution makers in the food industry to catalyze the development of new sustainable food solutions and test a compelling solution for each of the 4 challenges.
Startups and top Barilla managers will co-develop an innovative plan to solve a challenge, helping participants grow their businesses in real-time. Each selected team will receive a PoC funding of €10,000 to use during the project collaboration and may establish a long-lasting relationship with Barilla.
Program benefits
For each category, one startup will be selected to access the program.
- SelectionStartups applying to the Call for Application will pass through a selection process based on the criteria defined by the Barilla’s managers involved in the challenges. For each challenge, one startup will be selected to access the eight-week project collaboration.
- Assess & PlanOnce selected for Good Food Makers, each startup will meet the designated Barilla team, will set goals for the upcoming eight weeks, brainstorm solutions, and make an action plan to execute together, including the use of the € 10,000 PoC funding.
- InnovateEach startup will have Barilla’s pilot plant at their disposal to experiment, prototype and iterate with the Barilla team, based on desired outcomes. They will also access Barilla’s manager invaluable know-how to grow their business even further.
- PartnerBased on the outcome of the PoC, both parties will decide if they want to continue developing a widely marketable solution. Ongoing technical support, co-branded products, first corporate customers, and investment could be opportunities for the selected startup for future collaboration.
Timeline:
- May 23: Application Portal Opens
- June 30: Application Portal Closes
- July 30: Selection of Top 10 startups
- Sept. 2 – 13: Selection Days | Barilla meets top-10 startups
- Oct. 15 – 23: Winners invited to Italy
- Late Oct. – Mid Dec.: 8-week program with Barilla Managers
- Jan. 23 2024: Demo-Day | showcase of results
